Invisible Systems (ISL) was founded in 2003 by Pete Thompson, inspired by a vision to create a business that could quickly and consistently monitor energy usage. In 2006, Greggs became ISL’s first major customer, using the network to control fridge temperatures and protect their food products. From 2011 to 2013, ISL expanded to meet growing demand, integrating new technologies like LoRaWAN for more powerful connectivity.
By 2015, ISL had secured public sector contracts, including monitoring for the National Grid and nuclear plants, enhancing its reputation and client confidence.During the pandemic, ISL played a key role in vaccine storage, working with the NHS and vaccine facilities. In August 2022, the company expanded its facilities to include a dedicated lab for in-house calibration of devices and sensors to meet specific customer needs.
