A cold, damp home is not just unpleasant. It can also be very bad for your health. As part of an innovative project in Cornwall, smart sensors and mathematical modelling are helping the local Council make decisions based on real data to protect the health of its residents.

The Challenge.

Mould in the home has long been recognised to have an adverse effect on health - causing respiratory infections, asthma and allergies. Despite awareness of the problem, an estimated 75% of all claims made by tenants to Housing Associations in the UK are still focused on mould and the environmental conditions that cause it.

Housing Associations across the country are looking for cost-effective solutions that will provide healthier homes for tenants, and reduce the spiralling expense of mould-related claims.
